Of Course Your Child Knows You Love Him, But Does He Know That You LIKE Him?

Sure most kids know that you love them, after all, how many people don't love their children?  The more important question is, do you like your kids and do your kids know that you like them?  For some reason men are better at this than woman.  Woman get so caught up in organizing, cleaning, and planning that we often send our children a message that they are annoying or not someone you care to spend a lot of time without even realizing it. Sounds harsh right? That's because it is!  Liking your kid is far more important than loving them.  Liking them means that you respect them, appreciate them, admire them, and care about their individuality.  Although all those other things are very important (and necessary), we need to show our children that they are a priority in our lives and unfortunately children don't understand that paying their bills and cleaning the house is taking care of them.  It's so important to go the extra mile when using our patience with them and to show love regardless of weather they appear to want (or need it)!  If your child is old enough you can also have a conversation about why you spend so much time working or cleaning. Help them to understand that it's not because you don't want to spend time with them, it's because you are trying to take care of them and make their life better.  Here are 10 ways to show them you like them.

1.  Ask them 10 questions a day
2.  Embarrass them in front of their peers by doing silly things or showing public displays of affection
3.  Compliment them
4.  Make time for them in your busy schedule
5.  Get down on their level (sitting or kneeling)
6.  Set boundaries (warnings, limits, and consequences)
7.  Be patient
8.  Bring them into your life (helping you do things, asking their opinion, etc.)
9.  Tell them a joke to make them laugh (google a joke if you have to!)
10. Hug them, kiss them and tell them you love them

The stronger your relationship is with your child, the stronger your discipline will hold.

How do you build a stronger relationship with your child?  Sometimes children think that their parents think they are annoying. Can you imagine feeling that way?  How can you really build a stronger relationship with your child?  The answer is within you...you just need to make the effort and time.

Getting Through Those Winter Blues

When your toddler is taking way too long to get in the car seat and your late again.....
BREATHE

When the baby won't stop crying....

Force a smile

When the hot water heater breaks destroying your vacation budget...
DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE FUTURE, maybe some other money will come up....

DREAM

When life seems too much, just remember tomorrow is a new day and what seems catastrophic today may seem funny tomorrow!
